Dreamt there, dreamt that.
Have you ever experienced this moment when we feel that what we are experiencing now has been experienced before? That feeling, or the phenomena itself is called deja vu. What is deja vu? What is deja vu? it means “already seen”. Simple right? Nothing special about deja vu, all people have experienced this phenomenon. But what if you suddenly experienced deja vu, however, the memory of a dream comes flooding out of your brain, giving you the deja vu feeling? Now that is weird. The said phenomenon is called deja reve, meaning “already dreamt”. In other words, you just dreamt of the future. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing prophetic about these things. Most of the accounts are of everyday routines, like doing your thing (e.g. brushing teeth, washing face, not those things you green person) , looking outside the window, or talking to friends. It could be coincidence, but I do believe that people can dream of the future.
A lot of events led me to believe in deja reve. Most of them being a personal experience with the said phenomenon. I dreamt of me looking at the wall in sandbox, a cafeteria-type place in My Place. A very interesting dream. Obviously, the wall was not the interesting part. It was the fact that I remembered the dream when it was actually happening, and that I remembered dreaming it the summer before ever setting foot into My Place. There were some other times when things like these happened, but this was the most recent. So I went and searched the Internet for explanations, and other people that say they experienced deja reve too.
I did find quite a bit of them, although much were in forums and on other pieces of Internet. This account of one UtopianAngel was pretty interesting, since it contained the usual deja reve components. It was said on the forum that she/he/it dreamt of trying to apply eyeliner eyeliner in the bathroom while the pencil was blunt. Viola, it did happen, and the person was only able to remember it when it was happening.
I saw this account of deja reve on Wikipedia. The person said : “I was once sitting down in the kitchen noticing that my plate seemed well too familiar, it seemed as if my head motions were foreseen, and that every move would trigger a continuation to happen or so, I had many deja vus as a child but this was extraordinary,I knew from the bottom of my heart that I had dreamed this situation years ago, as a little boy, that an entire piece of memory was regained and I finally understood when and where I was dreaming and how long this dream was, and most importantly how many years ago did I dream.”
These accounts from the internet could be false, but I know what I experienced, that’s why I believe that deja reve is real. This doesn’t always mean that there are supernatural or paranormal things going on. It could always be a coincidence, a very statistically unsound coincidence, or it could be associated with the “unused” part of our brains subconsciously predicting the future through a series of complex logical and mathematical processes predicting the future through a series of complex logical and mathematical processes and then feeding the results to us through a dream. At least that’s what I would like to think. Of course, no one can say for sure, so dream your pick.

This happens to me, too. It feels weird nga. I wonder what’s the real explanation for this.

Nia recounts to us her tale of deja vu. To be more specific, deja reve, which is basically deja vu but the other experience was in a dream. She becomes interested in the topic and tries to find explanations for it on the internet. Eventually she concludes that while there are many examples of deja reve, no explanation can be given for it. She simply believes in it.
-I love the beginning, the middle was okay and your ending was fantastic.
-Perhaps you could have used a more concrete example, i felt the wall thing was a little to abstract.
-well written as usual.

First, JV gives as an introduction about deja reve. He also differentiates deja vu from deja reve. Then he continues by giving 3 anecdotes, one from his personal experience and the other 2 from the interenet people’s experiences. At the end, he makes a stand that he knows deja reve is real, although he can’t prove it.
The way this is written is good. The paragraphs seem to follow each other. The topic is very interesting because maybe, this happens to all of us. The introduction is very catchy too. My first impression was that, “oh my, this is a long one” but never the less, I enjoyed reading it. hehehe

Summary:
JV first explains the meaning of deja reve, a phenomenon which he believes in. He then narrates his own story of experiencing deja reve in Sandbox. UtopianAngel’s account of deja reve followed after. The last anedote was taken from Wikipedia. The three stories depicted everyday events which the narrators felt they have dreamt of prior to it actually happening. JV also creates a theory that the human mind is capable of peering into the future.
Assessment:
Both the introduction and the body followed their prescribed formats. It’s good that JV actually took the time to ponder why deja reve happens. It’s an interesting read.
