Why kicking at Life is dangerous to your health
Have you done something bad recently? You better watch your back now because it’ll definitely comeback to bite you in the ass. I’m talking about the things you’ve done lately. Have you backstabbed someone? Have you stolen something? Have you physically assaulted anyone? If the answer to one of the questions above is yes, then you’re in for a tough week. When you do something bad in life, Life is guaranteed to get back at you in 5 days or less. See, Life is an all-powerful cheapskate, who gets off on getting back at you a million times harder. You do something bad in this lifetime and Life will definitely get back at you.
Take for example last week; I installed software in my sister’s computer that will allow me to take over her computer. Yes, that’s bad. How would you like it if your mouse started moving on its own? Needless to say, my sister was thoroughly freaked out that weekend and I had loads of fun. Life gets back at you though. Come Monday night, my head feels like the entire army marched over it. By Tuesday, if my mouth weren’t shut then it would have been coughing up phlegm. I was so sick by Wednesday that I didn’t bother going to school, instead I went to have an X-ray of my chest. By Thursday, the results were out and I had pneumonia. Did I mention Life has a quick response time too?
This past week I’ve admittedly been acting like a jerk, especially to my parents. At night, they pass by my room and try to start a conversation about the day. So, I just give them a one-word answer every time they ask a question and see how they try to continue the conversation. Yeah, that’s mean, I know. On the same week, one of my teachers kicks into overdrive and wants a 10-15 pages research paper complete with Background of the Study, Statement of the Problem, Significance of the Study, Scope and Limitations, Theoretical Framework, Review of Related Literature, Methodology, Organization of the Study, etc. My teacher wants it all by next week.
I’ve thought about Karma, but it’s just not really quite like it. Life will respond, immediately even. When you kick at Life, it will definitely kick back where it really hurt with a lot more force. I think it was one of Newton’s laws that state: “For each action, there is an equal but opposite reaction.” Perhaps that holds true for matter, but with Life, there is definitely a greater opposite reaction.

Summary:
Geoff believes in karma and how the consequences of your actions get back to you easily. And these consequences are no doubt more complicated than the one that you did. Life gets back at you harder. Geoff supported his belief through his personal experiences. One of them is when he installed the software on his sister’s computer to take control of her sister’s computer and eventually, the karma for him was getting pneumonia. Another illustration he provided was regarding his one word answers to his parents and life getting back at him when his teacher wanted them to submit a 10-15 page research given a small time.
Comments:
Nice introduction you got there. It was a unique way of stating what you believe in because you did not just merely state that “i believe in karma”. However, you lacked an anecdote because ma’am said that 3 anecdotes should be provided. With regards to the flow of the entry, it was easy to read and the the flow of ideas were smooth. I didn’t have a hard time reading the entry. The ideas were thought of and Geoff was able to provide substance in the entry.

Summary:
Geoff believes not only in the concept of karma, but also that it takes effect almost immediately. He provide examples from his personal experience. He once installed a software that allowed him to control his sister’s computer and karma struck back by inflicting him with the colds. In another instance, he gave his parents one-liners and karma forced him to cough up a 10-15 page research paper.
Comments:
I liked the way you asked so many questions in the intro. It makes me reassess my life (and thus begin to wonder how karma can strike). As Mr. Fantastic already stated, you do lack one anecdote. Personally, I don’t believe in karma so I don’t find the stories too moving but it was amusing nonetheless.
